Abstract
This article analyses and confronts the absolute and fundamental right to life versus the right to as sisted reproduction outside the uterus (In Vitro Fertilization). The case of Costa Rica and the In ter-American Court of Human Rights is specifically studied. Likewise, the article intends to confront, both the problem of the inviolability of human life, enshrined in the Political Constitution of Costa Rica as well as, the objectification of the human embryo according to the interpretation that the In ter-American Court of Human Rights gives to the article 4.1 of the American Convention on Human Rights and try to answer the question of when biological human begins and when legaly it begins.
